At The Gathering, our philosophy is a simple one, we want to be the congregation, the gathering, the "ekklesia" that Jesus spoke about in the Book of Matthew. A gathering of people that have come together to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The church was not created for Christians, it was created for broken people, those in need of something bigger than themselves. That is why, when you come to The Gathering, you will see that we do things a little different than other traditional churches. We don't sit in pews or even in chairs in rows. Instead we sit at round tables, as a family, so that we can spread out and take notes (or even color).
As for a dress code, we want you to be comfortable, so please come as you are. In fact, you will find that our pastor preaches in jeans, because that's what's comfortable! We believe that children should never be considered second class citizens when it comes to Jesus' teachings, so we encourage your children to sit at a table with you (or in the back at the kid's table) and sing with us, as one big family. We also provide coloring sheets and other activities for them to do during the message.
If you are looking for a place where you can gather together with like minded people, who simply want to know and love Christ, then you've found it in The Gathering! We hope that you will come to an evening service and get to know us! If you have questions, please don't hesitate to call the church during our pastor's office hours (Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm).
